Hiya @caatys! :D Thank you for your Ask; it was an interesting experience for me answering it as it gave me the opportunity to discuss the workings of the Japanese entertainment industry xD And no, no, your English is more than understandable, which means no worrying about it ♥
I do apologise if I come off a little strong, but I would like to put it out there that unless Ryuji, Yui or Koudai have mentioned it officially and explicitly, they were not involved with each other and/or dating each other at any time during the run of the Live Spectacle NARUTO.
The reason why I am so direct about this is because a while back, we had an incident of a Tweet from a Ryuji x Koudai shipper misleading fans into thinking that Ryuji was gay and the information became pretty widespread. To quote the fan who heard/read about it from the shipper:
“i actually found the video while exploring twitter and the person that shipped him with koudai had said that that was it(him being gay)”
(If you’re interested, you can read about it: HERE )
Rather than it being deliberately done, it could have just been a misunderstanding, but it does show the snowball effect that can come from speculations. While I generally believe that the choice of what they post is entirely up to the person who posts it, I do also strongly believe that the spread of false information like this that is entirely baseless (especially since it takes advantage of the fact that fans might not necessarily understand the source language) needs to be discouraged because there are some very real consequences to it, especially when such speculations reach very public platforms where it is easily discovered by everyone, including the actors/actresses themselves as well as other people from the industry.
Unlike the Hollywood entertainment industry where speculation about relationships is just brushed off as gossip, such speculation is taken a lot more seriously in Japan, and in many cases, can have a detrimental impact on the lives and the careers of the actors/actresses involved. In some franchises (and most certainly in the idol industry), official bans are placed on actors/actresses from taking photos together to prevent such speculation because Japan places a huge importance on the personal conduct of the actor/actress, which includes their romantic involvement (a straight relationship, gay relationship and/or any type of actual romantic relationship).
In the worst case scenario, fans might actually stop supporting them because of such speculation, and the actor/actress might be fired from the franchise because of the fan backlash, and in turn, lose a lot of future opportunities.
It is also especially dangerous for fandoms like the stage fandom because we, as fans, have direct access to celebrities, like the cast of the Live Spectacle NARUTO, who have Twitter accounts and public blogs, which makes it dangerously easy for speculations to reach the actual person directly, and I personally feel being in the public eye is a huge pressure in itself without speculations about their private lives making it so much harder.
Once again, I do apologise for coming off a little strong, but as a fan of the cast and as someone who admires their work, I felt the need to give you my honest opinion because of the consequence that it might have on the lives and careers of the cast themselves.
That said, yes, I do most certainly agree that Team 7 have AMAZING chemistry and that they do get along really well ♥ They have a really close friendship, all of them, and even when they aren’t acting in the Live Spectacle NARUTO, they still hang out with each other pretty often in private. Just last month, they went out together for lunch in Disneyland, and less than two weeks ago actually, they had a new year celebration hangout together. Every time I watch them, I always get hit by how lucky we are to have them as our Team 7 because they get along well in private as well as professionally, and it shows in the chemistry that they have with each other on stage xD
